Thank you for your interest in visiting Eastern Connecticut State University. We look forward to hosting your group and providing an opportunity to explore our campus, academic programs, and student life. To help ensure a safe, welcoming, and successful visit, all chaperones are expected to review and follow the guidelines below.
Please note: If you have multiple chaperones, only one chaperone needs to complete this agreement.
Supervision of Students
The visiting school or organization is responsible for the supervision and conduct of all students throughout the campus visit. Eastern's Admissions staff and student tour guides are responsible for leading the information session and campus tour, but they are not responsible for monitoring student behavior or providing individual supervision.
A minimum of one chaperone is required for every 10 students. Chaperones must remain with their assigned students for the duration of the visit and should be prepared to address behavioral or safety concerns as they arise.
Group Expectations
To help the visit run smoothly, chaperones should:

Keep students together and on schedule throughout the visit.

Monitor student behavior and encourage respectful participation.

Assist Admissions staff if a student needs to leave the group or requires assistance.

Help maintain a positive environment for all visitors and members of the Eastern community.
Health and Safety
The visiting school or organization is responsible for the health, medical needs, and emergency procedures for its participants. Chaperones should have access to emergency contact information for all students and be prepared to respond in accordance with their organization's policies.
If a medical emergency or other safety concern occurs during the visit, please notify an Eastern staff member immediately so we can assist with coordinating the appropriate response.
Visitor Conduct
All visitors are expected to respect University property, follow the directions of Eastern staff, and contribute to a safe and welcoming campus environment. Disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Eastern Connecticut State University reserves the right to modify, shorten, or end a campus visit at any time if the behavior of participants interferes with the safety of others, disrupts University operations, or negatively impacts the experience of other visitors.
Acknowledgment
By scheduling and participating in a group visit, the visiting school or organization acknowledges that it retains responsibility for the supervision, safety, health, and conduct of all participants throughout the duration of the visit and agrees to comply with the expectations outlined above.
